Locker Room Policy: Facilities will be designated by gender and are for costume changes only. No skate tying is permitted in the locker rooms due to limited space. Our facility does have ample space in the upstairs mezzanine with tables and chairs, as well as plenty of space in the stands of Arena 1 for skate tying.
Team Event Protocol: Teams will have assigned "time in" and "time out" windows for dressing. Dedicated sections in the stands are provided for putting on skates, hair, and makeup; these areas are restricted to skaters and credentialed personnel.
Interpretive Events: Music previews will take place at the following times: Event 1 and 2 7:45amEvent 3 7:50amEvent 4 7:55amEvent 5 and 6 8am. Location will be posted at Registration.
Spotlight Events: Props may NOT be in the locker rooms. There will be an area for prop set up and then moved into the arena no more than 15 minutes prior to your event warm up. Once the skater is done, the prop must be immediately broken down and taken out of the arena. Space is limited, locker rooms are for changing only and we want to do our best to ensure nothing happens to anyone's prop. These events will also have an on/off door to help keep the flow and space available for the next group of skaters coming in to skate.
Team Events: All teams will enter 1 door and exit a different door.
*Teams with props: We will have spaces for teams to build their props. Please check with registration where your space will be located. If you need more than just your skaters and coaches to help get props on and off the ice please submit a list of names and which event(s) these people will need to assist with so that we can give them a credential for that event.
*Ensemble teams: The event is big and the warm up will be split. *Following Synchro event: Awards will be done on ice. When your team's placement is announced, the entire team will go over and receive their medal then line up for a team picture.
Volunteering: While outside families are not required to volunteer, the academy will sign off on service hours for visiting skaters who wish to help and need hours for school or other organizations and activities you may be involved in.
*All skaters will be given a program at check in.
Judging: All rinks/clubs are responsible for sending 1 judge for every 10 events. All coaches looking to put skaters on, must sign up for their judging assignments. If you are a coach who does not hold a Judging certification, you will need to Trial Judge during the event prior to your skaters 1st event.
How to sign up: Once the skaters schedule is set, the panels will be sent out for coaches to sign up for their judging slot(s). Every coach attending must submit a minimum of 3 Judging Panels they can sit on. Once all participants have registered, the schedule will be sent out and posted on the website. Please do not just block out panels with your club name. Please make sure each coach signs up for their panels. Clubs can later re-arrange their assignments within their coaching staff as long as the replacement coach 1. was on the audit list and came back good, 2. is the correct certification level for the panel and 3. has let the competition director know about the change.
