The Marlborough Labor Day Festival

Marlborough, Massachusetts, has hosted an annual Labor Day parade since 1952, making it a long-standing tradition. The first parade was initiated by Mayor Romeo J. Gadbois as a way to boost community morale after World War II and the Korean War. Initially featuring a modest 12 marching units, the parade has grown into a large-scale event, attracting over 150 bands, floats, and other entries according to A1 Exterminators. The parade is primarily managed and staffed by volunteers, with fundraising efforts relying on both city funding and private/commercial donations.
