Electric Ice Works
Teams 2026-2027 Season

Electric Ice Works and the Center Skating teams at the New England Sports Center (NESC) provide a premier, community-focused competitive environment for recreational figure skaters. Affiliated with the Ice Skating Institute (ISI), these programs specialize in team-based disciplines while nurturing lifelong friendships and strong technical foundations.

Team Disciplines & Performance Opportunities
The program offers a diverse array of team and group formats designed to match every skater's artistic and technical strengths:
-
Synchronized Skating: Skaters perform as a cohesive unit, executing intricate footwork, circles, blocks, and wheels in perfect unison.
-
Theater on Ice: This discipline combines the athleticism of figure skating with the dramatic elements of theater, focusing on storytelling, choreography, and musical themes.
-
Kaleidoskate & Production: Large group numbers that utilize creative costuming, props, and field moves to create dynamic visual formations across the ice.
-
Ensemble & Pattern Teams: Group routines consisting of 3 to 11 skaters, emphasizing synchronization, body lines, and musical interpretation without complex prop usage.
-
Individual & Partner Events: Beyond group routines, team members are encouraged to represent the club in solo, freestyle, spotlight, and partner/recreational ice dance events.

Core Philosophy and Mission
The program balances competitive growth with a supportive team culture, anchored by two primary pillars:
-
Solid Skating Foundations: Utilizing the structured ISI recreational track, coaches focus on building deep edges, proper posture, strong basic skills, and safe technical progression.
-
Lifelong Teammate Bonds: The programs explicitly emphasize camaraderie, mentorship across age groups, and a family-first atmosphere that supports skaters both on and off the ice.
