Learn to Skate with Electric Ice Works
Classes offered & descriptions
Parent & Child Class
*2 - 4 years old plus a parent who can skate.
*All skaters (adult and child) MUST wear a helmet
*Skater's MUST have their own no skates (NO double blade skates)
*Dress warm and comfortable and no knee pads as they tend to hinder beginner skaters.
Class will be 25 minutes of instruction followed by a 25 min supervised practice time.
Instructors will help the adult skaters get their little skater's get comfortable on the ice with different techniques and tricks along with teaching by play. This will encourage the younger skaters to be more engaged and less fearful of the ice.
Adult class
*6 and older
*All skaters MUST wear a helmet
*Skater's MUST have their own no skates (NO double blade skates)
*Dress warm and comfortable, no knee pads as they tend to hinder skaters.
Classes will be 35 minutes of instruction followed by a 15 minute supervised practice time.
Learn to Skate will have 4 levels
Hockey skating skills
*Skaters MUST have passed Tot 1 or Learn to skate 1
*Skaters MUST wear: hockey skates, shin pads, hockey socks, hockey shorts
*Skaters will the skating skills foundation needed to move onto hockey leagues, clinics and teams.
Hockey skating skills - 5 Levels
Tot Classes
*3 - 5 years old who can separate easily from their parent.
*All skaters MUST wear a helmet*Skater's MUST have their own no skates (NO double blade skates)*Dress warm and comfortable and no knee pads as they tend to hinder beginner skaters.
Class will be 25 minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of supervised practice time.
True beginner skaters will have class first, while skaters who can get up on their own and march forward will have class after practice time.
There will be 4 levels of Tot classes
Beg. Figure skating class
*Skaters must have passed all Learn to skate classes
*All skaters MUST wear a helmet
*Skater's MUST have their own skates (NO double blade skates).
*Dress warm and comfortable, no knee pads as they tend to hinder skaters.
Classes will be 30 minutes of instruction followed by a 10 minute supervised practice time.
There are 5 levels of classes
Learn to Play is offered through
The Center Skating Academy's USFSA program.
Learn to skate class
*6 and older
*All skaters MUST wear a helmet*Skater's MUST have their own no skates (NO double blade skates)*Dress warm and comfortable and no knee pads as they tend to hinder beginner skaters.
Classes will be 35 minutes of instruction followed by a 15 minute supervised practice time.
Learn to Skate will have 4 levels
Adv. Figure skating class
*Skaters must have passed all Learn to skate classes
*Helmet's are optional
*Skater's MUST have their own skates (NO double blade skates).
*Dress warm and comfortable, no knee pads as they tend to hinder skaters.
Classes will be 50 minutes of instruction
There are 5 levels of classes
Specialty Class 1
Small groups performance instruction and Synchronized skating skills
*Skaters will learn skating skills integral to synchronized skating and choreography in small groups (3-7) for ensemble performance
Specialty Class 2
Synchronized skating formations and choreography
*Skaters will learn to take the synchronized skating skills learned and place them into learning the formations and transitions of synchronized skating

*All required skills must be obtained to pass to the next class
*Evaluation of skills will be held on week 6 and skaters will be emailed by the end of week 7 class with what level to register for in the next session
*Skaters will receive an evaluation sheet and ribbon at the end of each session to help mark their progress
*Skaters MUST pass TOT 1 / LTS 1 before registering for Hockey 1
*Skaters MUST pass LTS 4 / Adult 3 before registering for Beginner Figure Skating
*Specialty classes can not be taken alone, skaters MUST also be enrolled in a group class in the same session or consistently taking private lessons.
*ALL group class skaters will have the opportunity to partake in the end of the year show
